"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." - Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV I was sitting in church one Wednesday night, overwhelmed with anger. Someone had hurt me, and I felt they weren't acting the way they should. I thought my sins weren't as bad as theirs, so I felt justified. But then, the Lord gently reminded me that I was wrong. I realized I was judging this person, and that was a sin in itself. God is holy, and my behavior was no better than theirs. I felt convicted and was moved to tears. The Holy Spirit whispered to me, "If you really love them, you would pray for their best, regardless of their behavior." That realization hit me hard. I admitted to myself that I didn’t truly love them as I claimed. My actions showed that I wanted them to act a certain way for my benefit. — 2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)
When someone is hurt deep inside, it can affect everyone around them. It might change how they interact with others, making it hard to trust or form healthy relationships. This can be especially tough for wives and mothers because their past pain can influence their relationships with their family. It's tough to think about, but when one person is hurt, their pain can cause others to hurt too. However, the good news is that when we heal, our healing can positively impact those around us.
Relationships are incredibly important in our lives. We have many kinds of relationships, from acquaintances to close friends and family. What we share with the people in our lives depends on what's inside us. If our hearts are filled with negative emotions like pain, anger, or fear, that's what we give to others. But if we're filled with positive feelings like peace, love, and joy, then we can share those good things.
Take a moment to think about your relationships. Do you bring good things to your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers? Or do people feel like they need to be careful around you because they might hear something negative? Do you talk a lot about your problems, or do you show interest in others? Can you be genuinely happy for someone else's good news, or do you feel jealous? All the negative feelings can be changed as you heal inside. God wants to heal and make you whole, not just for your own sake but so you can be a blessing to those you care about.
The path to healing is not always easy. It means looking honestly at the painful parts of your life and letting God heal them. In difficult times, keep going and don't give up. Remember, your healing can positively affect many people. I didn't like to think about how my past hurt had affected others, but now I rejoice because God has used my healing to help others. Stay on your healing journey and see how God will use you!
Prayer of the Day:
